Margaret River à Bunbury
Wir lieben Leuchttürme und so sind wir auf dem Weg vom Margaret River nach Bunbury zum Cape Naturaliste
gefahren. Dort gab‘s eine Überraschung! Doch die Tourist Information hatte noch einen Tip für’s Sightseeing -> eine Feldformation mit dem Namen ‚Sugar loaf‘. Beim Halt in Busselton haben wir
eine Wanderung auf dem 1.8km langen Jetty gemacht. In Bunbury ist eine einmalige Skulptur eines
Aboriginie und die kleinste Kirche Australiens (so steht‘s im Reiseführer).

We love to see lighthouses and that’s why we went to Cape Naturaliste (on our way from Margaret River to Bunbury). There we had a surprise! But the tourist office had a good advice and sent us to
‘Sugar loaf’. We made a stopover in Busselton and had a hike on the 1.8km long Jetty. In Bunburry is a unique sculpture of an Aboriginie and the smallest church of Australia (as written in the
guide).
25.02.2019 – 28.02.2019 Albany - Margaret River
Von Albany führt der Weg über Denmark zunächst nach Walpole. Dort ist ein bekannter Nationalpark: Normalup NP. Dieser Np ist bekannt für seine alten und
grossen Eukalyptus-Bäume. Schon an der Strasse haben wir einen der Giganten fotographiert. Im Park selber waren wir überwältigt von Überlebenskunst dieser Bäume. Eigentlich sind sie innen
vollkommen hohl, doch der verbleibende Stamm reicht aus um die z.T. über 400 Jahre alten Bäume am Leben zu halten.
Weiter gings nach Augusta – vor allem um den Leuchtturm zu sehen, dieser liegt am 34igsten Breitengrad. Dort treffen der
südpazifische - und der inidische Ozean aufeinander.
Danach haben wir uns in an der Küste gefreut und uns nach Margaret River aufgemacht haben.

From Albany we passed by Denmark and drove to Walpole. There the giant trees are in the Normalup NP. Already along
the road we took pictures oft he giants. In the NP itself we were surprised how these old giant trees (400 years) can survive, standing on 20% of the original base.
We continued to Augusta mainly to see the lighthouse, it’s on the 34° latitude and that’s where the outh pacific and indian ocean meet. We enjoyed the coast before going to Margaret River.
22.02.2019 - 24-02.2019 Nach dem Wellenfelsen wollten wir durch den Frank Hann NP nach Esperance fahren, doch unterwegs wurden wir
umgeleitet. Auch in Esperance hatten wir kein Glück der Cape Le Grand National Park war wegen Buschfeuer gesperrt. So sind wir über den Great Ocean Drive nach Albany weitergefahren.

Having left the Wave Rock we wanted to pass through Frank Hann NP in direction Esperance, but the road was closed due to bushfire. No luck in Esperance neither, we tried to go to Cape Le Gran NP,
it was also closed because of bushfire. That's why we went to Albany on the Great Ocean Drive.
20.02.2019 - 22.02.2019 Ausgehend von Perth ging's in Richtung Norden (ca.200km) bis zu den Pinnacles. Am nächsten Tag nach Narembeen
zu einem unvergesslichen Sonnenuntergang auf dem Roe Lookout. Und weiter auf einer Staupiste zum Wave Rock.

Starting in Perth we drove North to The Pinnacles. The next day we went to Narembeen where we had an unforgettable sunset on Row Lookout. On a dustroad we continued to Wave Rock.
10.02.2019 - 13.02.2019 Kaikoura mit einem Ausflug auf's Meer zum Walewatching (Wal-Beobachten). Als letzte Stadt in Neuseeland waren wir in Christchruch. Christchurch wurde 2011 durch ein starkes Erdbeben weitgehend zerstört und auch heute sind die Folgen des Bebens allgegenwärtig.

Kaikoura is the place for walewatching, out in the sea the wale are there all year long. Our fnal destination in NZ was Christchurch. This town was almost completely distroyed by a massiv earthquake back inn 2011. Today there are many places where the distruction can still be seen.

29.01.2019 - 31.01.2019 Hokitika ist die Hautstadt für Jade aus Australien. Von dort gings zunächst zum Franz Josef Gletscher und dann weiter zum Vox Gletscher. Beide Gletscher reichten vor 150 Jahren bis hinunter zum Meer, Jedes Jahr schmelzen 10-20m weg! Heute muss man schon eine 2km Wanderung machen um in die Nähe der Gletscherzunge zu kommen.

Hokitika is the capital for jade of Australia. We than continued to Franz Josef Glacier und Vox Glacier. 150 years ago both glaciers ended in the sea. These days they melt by 10-20m per year. In order to get to the glacier you Need to walk at least 2km up the valley.

Eine Stadt mit
vielen Gesichtern. --- A town with many faces.
Wir haben noch nie
so viele Shopping Zentren, Foodcourts, Restaurants, Gratisbusse gesehen. Im Zentrum ist das Queen Plaza im Untergeschoss ein Supermarket wie Coop oder Migros. Mit dem Gratisbus Linie 30 ging‘s
zurück ins Hotel. Fish and Chips (Fisch mit Pommes Frites) gibt’s an jeder Ecke, natürlich konnten wir nicht widerstehen. Richtig lecker Essen kann man in den zahllosen Restaurants (Preise wie in
der Schweiz, nur das Bier ist hier doppelt so teuer). Ein Fahrt auf dem Brisbane-River, ein Besuch des Botanischen Gartens und immer wieder die Fussgängerzone und da war noch der Mt. Coot-tha mit
dem Blick über die Stadt. Die fünf Tage vergingen viel zu schnell. Aber Achtung der Höhepunkt war der Besuch im Koala Sanctuary. Neben den niedlichen Koalas gab es auch (endlich) Kängurus
u.a.m.!

We have never seen so many shopping centers, food-courts, restaurants, free busses and Brisbane has them all. We went to the Queen Plaza in the basement is a Coles-market, we found all we wanted.
The free bus line 30 took us back to the hotel. Fish and chips are everywhere and we couldn’t resist. Brisbane is known for it’s seafood available in the countless restaurants (the prices are as
same as in Switzerland, only the beer was more expensive here). With a boat on the river, a visit to the botanic garden, back to the pedestrian zone and there was the Mt. Coot-tha offering a
superb view to the town. The five day passed much too quick. The best at the end: a visit to the Koala Sanctuary, besides the pretty Koalas we finally saw Kangaroos and more!

XinJiang im Nortwesten von China. Ausgangsort für die Rundreise ist Wurumuqi, die Hauptstadt von Xinjiang. Nach einem 5 Stunden Flug haben wir im Hotel eingecheckt und sind anschliessend auf den Bazaar gegangen (ein Muss in Wurumuqi!). September 2018

BeiDaiHe, China: Am Strand. Zunächst der DongShan Strand nahe beim Hotel, dieser Strand ist öffentlich. Mit dem Hafen kommen und gehen viele Leute vor allem im vorderen Bereich des Strands. Danach der Tiger Stein Park, 8 RMB Eintritt hier sind auch unter der Woche viele Leute. Juni 2018

BeiDaiHe, China, BeiHuaYuan Sea View Hotel ein Hotel mit toller Lage direkt am Meer. Ein typisch chinesisches Hotel, es wird kein Englisch gesprochen. Die Zimmer sind gross und sauber. Das Frühstück gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber es geht.

This hotel is located directly besides the sea, a great place. It's a typical chinese Hotel, nobody speakes English. The rooms are large and clean. The breakfast very chinese, but it's ok.
Shanghai, China, ZuiBaiChi Park mit der Metro Line 9 einfach zu erreichen, da der Park an der zweitletzten Haltestelle liegt, kann man auf dem Rückweg sicher sitzen. Eintritt RMB 15, 65+ gratis auch für Ausländer (Ausweis mitnehmen).

This park is directly at the exit of Metro line 9. Since it is the second last stop of this line, it's for sure you might sit down on the way back to town. Entrance fee RMB 15, 65+ free including foreigners (take ID along)

Wo viele Leute sind ist auch viel Verkehr auf der Strasse.
Übrigens die Einheimischen aus Shanghai sind nicht auf der Promenade anzutreffen - sie mögen nicht das Gedränge :).

Es ist Litschi Saison, das hab ich bei uns nie gesehen - Litschi's mit so viel zarter Frucht und einem so kleinen Kern (sogross wie ein Reiskorn, sagt die Verkäuferin) - göttlich.

It's lychee Season, the fruits you get here are wonderfull. The nucleus is as small as a grain of rice (the seller said). The lychees taste great!
Fleisch ob roh oder zubereitet gibt's in allen Varianten, auch Tofu, Nudeln und Gemüse. Wantan werden Vorort von Hand gemacht.
Wie lang sollen die Bohnen sein? Die 50cm langen, die schmecken sehr gut. Sogar weissen Reisschnaps gibt's!

Raw meat or read make dishes are available, besides tofu, noudles and vegetables. Wantan are handmade right at place.
How long should the beans be? Let's have the 1 1/2 feet long ones they taste very good. Even white rice liquor is available!
