Mt. Sunday (Edoras)

Von der Ortschaft Mt.Somers ging es vorbei am Lake Clearwater und unzähligen Schafweiden Richtung Mt.Sunday. Wunderschöne Landschaften und immer knapper werdendes Benzin haben uns begleitet.

Starting in the village Mt.Somers the way was along Lake Clearwater and countless sheep runs in direction of Mt.Sunday. Agnificent lookouts and Shorter and Shorter gasoline were our accompaniments.

Schaffen wir es bis zum Mt.Sunday? Immerhin sind es rund 60km vom Mt.Somers bis Mt.Sunday!  ---  Can we make it to Mt.Sunday? The distance is 60km from Mt.Somers to Mt.Sunday.

Die Antwort ist: ja wir haben's geschafft!  ---  The answer is Yes we made it!

So haben wir uns zu Fuss auf den Weg zum Mt.Sunday gemacht. Der Mt. Sunday war im Film Herr der Ringe Edoras!

Von Filmset war  nichts mehr übrig, doch die atemberaubende Aussicht hat uns mehr als entschädigt für den Aufstieg auf Mt.Sunday! Die Frage blieb: schaffen wir es auch zurück zur nächsten Tankstelle?

There was nothing left of the filmset. But the ooutstanding view compensated the walk up to the summit of Mt.Sunday! The open question was: will we make it back to the next gas-station?

Die Antwort ist, ja. Doch wir haben gelernt: immer genug Benzin im Tank erspart manch graues Haar :).
