Albany

Kurz vor fünf Uhr Abends sind wir in Albany angekommen. Wie meistens hatten wir noch keine Unterkunft gebucht. Also gingen wir zur Tourist Info. Schnell wurde uns klar es ist Hochsaison, der Bescheid war: es ist alles ausgebucht und um 5 macht die Info sowieso zu. Was es noch für Möglichkeiten gäbe, haben wir gefragt – klar online suchen. Das hat eine der netten Damen mit der Info eigenen Software gemacht und oh Wunder es hat eine Annulierung gegeben und so haben wir quasi last minute eine tolle Wohnung im östlichen Teil von Albany am Middleton Strand gefunden. Uff das war knapp!

Just before 5pm we arrived in Albany and we didn’t have a booking. We went to the tourist info center. They told us Albany is sold out – so we got the feeling of a attrackive tourist place. We asked what we could do, they recommended to try online. She did that for us on their own software an what a wonder she found a cancellation. That’s how we got a nice apartment last minute. It was located in the east of th town next to the Middleton Beach.

Die älteste Stadt von West Australien hat einige historische Häuser und einen wöchentlichen Markt jeweils am Sonntag. Gleich neben dem Hafen werden lokale Produkte angeboten. Die Gegend ist bekannt für die blauen Meereskrebse.

The oldest town WA has some histroric buildings and a weekly market on Sundays. It’s directly beside the harbour, local products are offered. The Region is known for the blue sea crab.

Südlich von Albany ist die Flinders Halbinsel. Auf ihr befindet sich der Torndirrup Nationalpark mit einem Blowing Hole(eine Felsenloch das von den Wellen mit einem Donnern gefüllt wird und eine Fontaine bildet.(Hier allerdings nicht). Eine natürliche Brücke ist an der Küste und ein Leuchtturm.

South of Albany is the Flinders Peninsula. On it is the Torndirrup NP with a blowing hole, a natural bridge and a lighthouse.
