Nach unserer Ankunft in Taiwan, waren glücklich einen alten Freund zu treffen. Er hat uns zunächst zum
weltbekannten 'National Palace Museum' in Taipei gebracht.
Höhepunktesind die aus Jade gefertigten Kunstwerke wie: das 'Jade Devine Beast' oder den weltberühmten Jade Kabis und den Jade Speck. All diese Kunstwerke nützen die natürliche Farbe des
jeweiligen Jadesteins vorzüglich aus.

After our arrival in Taiwan, we were so happy to meet a good old friend. He brought us first to the worldwide
highly recognized National Palace Museum in Taipei.
The highlights of the displayed treasures are the jade carvings such as the ‘Jade Devine Beast’, the incredible ’Jade Cabbage’ and the ‘Jade Meat’. All of these carvings make use of the natural
color of the individual jade stones, the carving art almost brings the jade to life, all three are master pieces of carving art!
In der Austellung sind nur wenige Austellungsstücke permanent zu Sehen. Zu gross ist der Umfang des Archives - das führt dazu dass die Hauptaustellung alle 3 Monate neu gestaltet wird.
Was in Europa Picasso, ist in Asien Chang Dai-chien, er ist überall bekannt! Ein Besuch im Museum ist bei jedem Aufenthalt in Taipei angesagt!

In the exhibition just a few key treasures are displayed always. The archive is so big therefore the historic part is rotated every third month.
For Europe Picasso and for Asia Chang Dai-chien have the equal popularity. To visit the Museum is a must for every visit to Taipei!
Wachablösung am Märtyrers Schrein Zhong Lie. Hier
werden Märtyrer die sich in der Geschichte Taiwans besonders verdient gemacht haben geehrt. Der Schrein ist 1969 fertig gestellt worden und liegt auf einer Fläche von rund
50‘000m2.

We saw the changing oft he guard at the Zhong Lie shrine, it’s Taiwans martyrs shrine. It was built 1969 and has a total area of over 50’000m2.
Weiter ging’s zum
Grand Hotel von Taipei. Dies macht nicht nur von aussen, sondern auch innen und in der Umgebung einen guten Eindruck. Zimmer gibt’s ab 99$ zu haben (ohne Aussicht) die besseren kosten 250$ die
Nacht.

Das Din Tai Fung
ist ein beliebtes Dim Sum Restaurant. Bestellt wird am Eingang, dann wird gewartet bis die eigene Nummer erscheint, dis kann gerne mal bis eine Stunde dauern - aber es lohnt sich! Zum Abschluss konnten wir noch den 101 von
weitem sehen.

The Din Tai Fung restaurant is well known for it's Dim Sum. The order is placed at the entrance, than you wait for your number, that might be up to one hur - but be sure it's worth while! At the
end of the day we had the chance to see 101 from far.
Am nächsten Morgen gings mit der U-Bahn zum 101. Erhaben ragt er hoch bis in die Wolken. Aus einiger Entfernung sieht das Hochhaus mit seinen 508m elegant aus und wir konnten den 101 in ganzen Grösse sehen!

Next morning we took the Metro to 101. It easily reaches the clouds. From the distance the Skyscraper with it's 508m looks elegant and we could see it with it's full size.
In der Nähe des 101 liegt das Dr.Sun Yat Sen Memorial. Sun Yat-Sen lebte von 1866-1925. Er war ein Politiker und hat u.a. die Qing-Regierung in China gestürzt. Seine politische Philosoph basiert
auf drei Prinzipien des Volkes: Prinzip der Volksgemeinschaft, Prinzip der Volksrechts und Prinzip der Volkswohlfahrt.

Near by 101 is the Dr.Sun Yat Sen Memorial. Dr. Sun lifed from 1866-1925, he was in politics. So he was fighting the Qing-Government in China and became the first provisional persident of China.
His political philosophy was based on three principals:
peoples community, peoples rights and peoples wealth.
Chiang Kai-Shek war völlig anders, er hat den Bürgerkrieg in China gegen Mao verloren und ist nach Taiwan gezogen. Dort hat er tausende Gegner töten lassen. Auch er hat eine Gedenkstätte erhalten!

Chiang Kai-Shek was totally different, he lost in China vs. Mao and went to Taiwan where he killed thousends of people, who didn't support him. There is a memorial for him too!
Weiter gings zu Tempel des City Gods. Hier wird Buddismus gelebt!

We went on to the temple of the City God. That's where buddism is alife.

Kaffeepause mit Kuchen ging’s zum XingTian Tempel, der liegt nur zwei U-Bahnstationen vom Brother Hotel entfernt (unserer Bleibe). Es folgte noch ein herrliches Essen in einem feinen Shanghai
Restaurant – in Taipei!

After a coffee break with cake we went t see the XingTien Temple, it is just two Metrostaions away from the Brother Hotel, where we stayed. In a famous shanghai restaurant we had
dinner.
