Die Schiffsreise
von Weihai, China nach Incheon, Korea will gut geplant sein. Dies aus zwei Gründen: zum einen ist es ungewöhnlich, dass Ausländer von Weihai das Schiff nehmen, d.h. die Behörden sind nicht daraus
vorbereitet und brauchen entsprechend Zeit Abklärungen zu machen. Für die Visa Abklärung war ein Tag notwendig und natürlich ist das Ticketbüro nicht jeden Tag offen. Dazu kommt, dass es
verschiedene Kabinen gibt: 8er mit gemeinschafts Toilette, 4er mitToilette im Zimmer und grosse 2er mit Badezimmer. Wir wollten gerne ein 2er, davon gibt es nur wenige und eine Woche im Voraus
sollte man schon Buchen – wir haben‘s geschafft. Die Überfahrt dauert rund 15 Stunden.

The trip from Weihai to Incheon must be planned well ahead. There are two reasons why: not many foreigners take the boat, that’s why the administration needs more time to check the formalities.
E.g. to get the requirement of a visa took an additional day. Of curse the tiket office isn’t open every day. Also there are different cabins available: 8 persons wwith shared toilet, 4 persons
with toilet in the room and spaceous 2 persons cabins with bathroom.Of course we tried to get the last option, there aren’t many but finally we got one! It takes approx. 15 hours.
Unser erster Besuch
galt dem königlichen Palast Changgyeonggung.Er wurde 1419 errichtet. Die Japaner zerstörten den Palast im Imjin Krieg Ende des 16. JH und er wurde 1616 wieder aufgebaut. Der Park diente eine Zeit
lang als Zoo, bis er 1983 wieder als Palast etabliert wurde. Bemerkenswert ist das doppelte Dach, das im Sommer die Räume kühl hielt und die Boden-Heizung für den Winter. Das Feuer mussten die
‚minderen‘ Frauen übernehmen. Die
Könige hatten damals bis zu 30 Frauen.

Our first vist was
to the royal palace Changgyeonggung. It has been built 1419. The Japaniese distroied it in the Imjin war at the beginning of the 16th century.. It was rebuilt 1616. The park was used as a zoo for some time, finally 1983 it was again the original royal
palace. Remarkable is the double roof, it keeps the room cool during the hot summer and the floor-heating for the winter. To keep the heating going the lower ranking women had to take care. The
king had up to 30 women these days.
Nach einem Spaziergang durch die Stadt ging’s in
den Dongdaemon City Wall Park um das Lichtermeer der Stadt am Abend zu sehen.

After a walk through the vibrant city, we went to the Dongdaemon City Wall Park to see the light of the city by night.
Ein Besuch in Seoul
und Korea? Hier haben wir die beste Tourist Information (ever) gefunden. Am Cheonggye zwischen Brücke 2 und 3 an der Südseite des Flusses. Hier gab es Information pur, keine Werbung, kein Verkaufen. Geduldig wurden alle Fragen
beantwortet und dies nicht nur für Seooul, nein für ganz Korea. Das ganz noch mit den entsprechenden Broschüren dokumentiert. Für uns war’s die beste Tourist Information die wir je besucht
haben!

A visit to Seoul and Korea? Here we
have found the best Tourist Information ever! It’s located on the south side of river Cheonggye between bridge 2 and 3. We have received information pur, no promotion, no sales. With pation they
have taken their time to answer all our uestions, not only for Seould, but also for Korea! And on top we have received maps and broschures accordingly. For us it was the best Tourist Information
we have ever been to!

Überraschung erwartete uns auf dem Weg zum Gyeongbokgung Palast: Cathrine!
Studenten, unter Anleitung der Touristenorganisation, haben Touristen gratis Führungen durch den Palast offeriert, wunderbar. Cathrine hat uns so viel zum Palast und zur koreanischen Kultur
erzählt – all dies hätten wir wohl nie erfahren. So sind einige ihrer Kommentare unter C: auf den Bildern wiedergegeben.Vielen Dank Cathrine!

The next bis surprise was waiting for us on the way to the Gyeongbokgung Palace: Cathrine! Students, under guidance of the tourist organization, offered
free guided tours in the palace – wonderful. Cathrine has told us so many inside details of the buildings and the Korean culture, which we might have miss otherwise. I have put some the highlight

Durch den Welt
ersten OLED Tunnel und mit der Seilbahn geht’s hoch zum Namsan Seoul Turm. Von hier geniesst man einen herrlichen Ausblick über die
ganze Stadt.

Through the World’s First OLED Tunnel and by a
cablecar we went up to the Namsan Seoul Tower. There we had an exiting view to the city.
