Die berühmte Qinghai-Tibet Eisenbahnstrecke führt von Xining, der Hauptstadt der Provinz Qinghai über 1956km in die heilige Stadt Lhasa. Die Reise dauert rund 24 Stunden und unterwegs gibt es viele wunderschöne Landschaften zu sehen. Ausgehend von Xining 2300müM über die höchste Stelle beim Tanggula Mountain Pass mit 5072müM bis nach Lhasa mit 3641müM.
Der Zug ist mit Druckkabinen unterwegs, die auf 3000müM eingestellt sind.

Wir sind Abend 10Uhr im Hotel in Lhasa angekommen und haben am Morgen den Potala Palast von weitem gesehen.
